The associations Quatorze (Paris) and Zukunst (Berlin) invite 14 young adults (7 people living in Germany, 7 people living in France) to participate in their new project organized in collaboration with the DFJW (Franco-German Youth Office): People on the move, which will take place from 13 to 23 September 2021 near Briançon.

People on the move is an intercultural project that deals with movement in different forms. The movement of people through the question of migration and exile; the movement of bodies through theater; and the movement of hands through a work on signage marking the end of the renovation of the Maison Bessoulie. The participants* work will culminate through a performance they will prepare during these ten days and present at the inauguration of the Maison Bessoullie. All formal times will be translated into French or German, so it is necessary for participants* to be comfortable and able to communicate in one of these languages. English is a plus.

Where and when ?

The project will take place in La Salle-les-Alpes from 13 to 23 September 2021. Participants will be accommodated and fed at the Serre Chevalier Youth Hostel near the Maison Bessoulie for the duration of the exchange. It is important that the participants* are present during the whole exchange.

Who can participate ?

The project is open to:

- Citizens* living in France or Germany and between 18 and 30 years old.

- Refugees living in Germany or France and aged between 18 and 30 years old.

- Asylum seekers living in Germany or France between 18 and 30 years old.

People with lower mobility possibilities, from remote or sensitive areas will be preferred in order to take into account the OFAJ/DFJW "Participation and Diversity" strategies. Participants must carry a valid identification document for the duration of the encounter.

Participants* will be asked to provide either proof of vaccination, proof of recovery, or a PCR test less than 72 hours old in the form of a QR code. Costs associated with testing will not be covered, but should not be a barrier to registration. Please contact us if you are unable to cover these costs. Self-testing will be conducted during the project to ensure the smooth running of the project.

No prerequisites are necessary to participate in the exchange, but a specific interest in issues of hospitality, exile, migration, and an interest in performance, theater is beneficial.

Participation is completely free of charge. Accommodation and meals for the duration of the project are also covered. - Travel expenses will be reimbursed up to 150 euros for people living in France and 200 euros for people living in Germany.

Mit offenen Armen - Teil 2

Franco-german youth exchange around comic and architecture.

The associations Quatorze (Paris) and Zukunst e.V. (Berlin) invite all people living in Germany and France to participate in the second part of our project: Mit offenen Armen (Part 2), which will take place in Montreuil, from September 17 to 24, 2021.

The project consists in addressing together the issues of the hospitable city, especially through solutions for the reception and accommodation of new arrivals. In the first part, we tried to invent new reception solutions and use architectural design tools to think about these spaces. It was an opportunity to reflect on what constitutes the feeling of "home", what enables the appropriation of a space and what possibilities of freedom remain in our cities.

Parallel to these reflections, we familiarized ourselves with storytelling in the world of comics. In this second phase, we would like to continue with the theme of reception by exploring this question, especially in the French context. In the program: discovery of different forms of reception and active participation in the design of the outdoor facilities of a future reception center in Montreuil before. The reflection and construction work will enrich our artistic work around the comic.

Where and when:

Montreuil and Paris from the 17th to the 24th September 2021.
